What it is
Most businesses need marketing leadership before they can justify hiring it. An agency with no context fills the gap, or the founder covers it.
What I actually do
- Take stock of what's running, what it costs and what's working
- Own the plan, the priorities and the budget, week to week
- Manage the agencies, freelancers and vendors so you don't have to
- Report to leadership and the rest of the business in their language
- Do the work myself where doing beats delegating
- Hire and structure the team, build toward the permanent hire, and coach whoever takes it over
